ABOUT
Many public works projects include an obligation to fulfill certain criteria for Minority Set Aside Programs. Aside from the expertise and professionalism Garner Construction brings to the tower crane and labor service industry, the company is a qualifying member of several minority set aside programs including:

DBE - Disadvantage Business Enterprise

SEDBs - Small Economically Disadvantaged Businesses.

The General Contractor has both internal and external incentives for using set-aside programs. The external requirement is overtly stated in contract documents and hiring Garner Construction will satisfy any project’s requirement for WBE/DBE expenditures.

The internal incentives for using set-aside programs are as important as the contractual terms. Community support is an important part of the approval process, and it also makes for a friendlier and more welcoming construction site. Communities often view hiring of WBE, DBE, SEBDs qualifying members as socially responsible.

Most importantly, contractors who demonstrate a successful history of working with WBE/DBE subcontractors in their field find themselves more often included on the owner’s "select short list" on negotiated work. Firms that hire companies that are qualifiers of these set-aside programs, often reap the benefits of future project opportunities.
